25-2015 : J. Morrell, Planning Board Findings 12.1.25 (382 Abbott, 115 Englewood, 331 Vermont)

The Planning Board has recommended approval for Special Use Permits for three properties:

  • 382 Abbott Road: Re-opening of a former tavern with a capacity of 49 people. Operating hours will be Wednesday-Friday from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, and Saturday-Sunday from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM. The proposed use is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan's focus on walkability and economic growth.
  • 115 Englewood Avenue: Expansion of an existing neighborhood retail store to include a deli offering hot and cold food options. This use is consistent with smart growth and sustainability principles.
  • 331 Vermont Street: Re-opening of a neighborhood shop (general store) after a fire required temporary closure. The site was previously a neighborhood shop and is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan's smart growth principles.

All three proposals were found to be consistent with the Comprehensive Plan, unlikely to endanger public health, safety, or welfare, not place an excessive burden on public services, and harmonious with surrounding areas.
