26-215 : Report of Homestead Sale 75 Weaver (LO)
26-215This agenda item concerns the sale of a city-owned vacant lot at 75 Weaver Street to an adjacent property owner, Steven Blas, for use as additional yard space. The sale is being conducted under the City of Buffalo's Homestead Plan 2025, which allows adjacent homeowners to purchase vacant lots for a minimum of $1,000.00. Mr. Blas, who owns the adjacent property at 77 Weaver Street, has agreed to pay this amount plus all associated closing costs, including transfer tax and recording fees. The sale is contingent upon several conditions:
- Acceptance of the property in "as is" condition.
- Combination of the vacant lot with his owner-occupied residence.
- Maintenance of the property according to city codes.
- A minimum ownership period of five (5) years, after which the property cannot be sold or transferred without reverting to the City.
- Signing a full release and indemnity to the City.
